John Daley's cricket CV

[ The following is added as a result of the barnstorming popularity of the Steve Abbott program Under The Grandstand, broadcast on Saturday & Sunday nights on SBS in July-September 2005 during the luncheon interval of the England-Australia Test cricket matches. ]

John is a qualified cricket umpire. He has been a Full Member of the New South Wales Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association since 1990.

His on-field career spanned the years 1984 to 1999. In that time, he umpired matches in the following competitions:

• Sydney ("Lower Grades" panel covering 4th & 5th Grade, A- and B- Division Municipalities & Shires, Poidevin-Gray Shield, Frank Gray Cup, and Green Shield - not trading stamps)
• Sydney Womens Competition (1st & 2nd Grade)
• Illawarra ("B" Panel, covering 1st & 2nd Grade

John also held the post of Honorary Librarian (Electronic Resources) for the South Africa Womens Cricket Team at the 2001 World Cup tournament at

Napier,

New Zealand.  T

his involved compiling daily performance statistics for each player as well as surveying general electronic media coverage of the tournament, and making this information available to team management in a timely fashion for purposes of coaching of players and of general tour management.

John has had training experience with Womens Cricket South Coast, and is presently seeking training accreditation with the New South Wales Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association.
